INDIAN VILLAGES… A STRENGTH

INDIAN VILLAGES – STRENGTH OR WEAKNESS

Introduction:

My argument is in the favour of villages.

Indian Villages – The name itself brings in a lot of happiness and fun-filled memories. The place where we can smell the land, we can see all-round greenery and peace far away from the chaos and hustle life of cities. The calmness and serenity of the atmosphere sends is in itself a positive outlook.

Village is the place where our daily rice and wheat comes from. It is the place where our daily commodities like sugar, honey, tea, coffee, milk, oil, wood, etc comes from. The list is endless. The credit for ecological balance also goes for the villages where the trees take care of the pollution that we create in cities. The term village itself signifies Strength. It is truly termed as the backbone of India. the developed India need not abolish its villages. The cities and villages have to go hand in hand to achieve considerable progress. In the GDP growth where other sectors are scoring more is due to the fact that they have been stressed more and more amount of inputs are being diverted to these sectors. Consider 1960′s where the green revolution has provided India with enough food stocks that it could even export food. It could be a pathetic stage for a country like India to import food for its citizens. We still do remember the Bengal’s starving where thousands of people died lack of food. India may grow be leaps and bounds in IT, Industrial, and other sectors in cities but Villages are going to stay as a major strength for any developing country like India. Even though our country developing in sectors like science & technology but at the same time we have to agree that our economy depends a lot upon agriculture sector, which is in turn, depends upon village farmers.

Tradition and Culture:

The country is shining in many fields like sports, business, politics and many more but the world is still recognizing India for its diverse culture. This culture is almost dead in cities but these are still living in villages hence they contribute to our reorganization. Indian villages exist still because of their great tradition & values, though there is some lacks of infrastructure for the farmers to farm agriculture land still they are growing seeds in their land due to their great will power which makes feel India to be a proud nation.

Indian villages surely forms an integral part of Indians success in global arena. The main contribution that they provide is the stability of economy, which is basically lacking in the cities. But their contribution by far is very less considering the fact of what they are actually capable of. Improving infrastructure may be just one of the solutions to this problem. But the root cause lies in the thinking level of the people. An educated person thinks every aspect of life in a different way than compared to an illiterate. By building knowledge based economy our country is surely going to succeed in bringing a good economic growth in the next 50 years.

India is an agrarian economy, their role can’t be ignored. We can’t exist if villagers don’t provide us with food grains, vegetables, fruits. In India more than 55 yrs of independence majority of people live and find their livelihood in agriculture. The contribution of agriculture though declining, still significant in GDP. But the basic problem which our village suffers is lack of infrastructure facilities. Govt. should upgrade it. This would certainly boost up our economy.

villages are the Backbone of India. Around 70% population of India is villagers, who are completely depend on the Agriculture, or business related to agriculture. So Government should have to pay attention towards the betterment of their life, and their children life, no doubt, government trying to make them educated but, the real need is to provide them quality education. This education policy is also some what responsible for the bad condition of villagers. because no one give attention towards the quality education that is why, the literate qualified people still not able to compete in the job market. And after getting well educated they do not want to work in the farm. So the ultimate solution for that is to make them aware properly regarding their Future. Also they should be given more attention to provide latest farming technology, proper financial support, also insurance risk cover of their crops. We must stop them from going to cities, for that we have to provide earning source at their doorstep menace at villages. Better way to help them is to provide subsidies to agricultural expenditure, and should provide some support to set up the agri-based processing plants. Only then they can improve their livelihood, and after that only we can imagine about the Peaceful India. And if we able to do this then no one can resist us to reach on the top of the World.

As in the current scenario whatever boom is taking place it’s all going in the basket of big corporate and
politicians. Common people who reside in the villages and small towns are not getting a much of it. Apart basic developments like of telecom and media. Which have become phenomena in the present? So analyzing the current situation of villages they are not contributing much as compared to other sectors as share of agriculture is declining in the overall gap of the country and service sector is booming with the rise of exports in it sector and manufacturing sector like textiles. So villages are losing on infrastructure, education, job opportunities etc. So the time has come for change to make have a reform with having implementation on policies which are just creates in our country.

Dependency:

City people are more dependent on village products, rather than villages on city products. for example if a villager don’t get tooth paste he can use neem twig, he can live without luxurious items produced in cities. But city people can’t survive without village products like food grains, fruits, milk etc. our 70% population live in villages, inspite of poor basic education village children excel in every field because they are not spoon fed. All great people of India are basically from villages like Ex president A P J Kalam, Lal bahadur Shastri, Narayan Murthi. There is a great brain resource in villages in India which is to be tamed.

Although the rural people are not so much educated but they also have much knowledge on which they can survive their life. from the marketers point of view, rural area is one of the biggest target market for them , because educating the rural consumers are really much difficult because they dont have much knowledge about the product but they get influenced by word of mouth from others.

Indian villages are our strength, because they contribute the maximum for our agricultural sector, most of our Indian population (more than 70%) lie in the villages. lately, these people are moving into the cities to find jobs and for a better living and end up in slums. Therefore I feel the government should develop the rural areas (other than agricultural farms) and provide them more job opportunities to, so that they could be stopped from migrating into the cities (and eventually end up in slums-which has to be eradicated from he cities). Moreover, this way they can utilize the population of the villages to develop their own villages and hence also our economy. It’s high time our villages are developed.

Contribution:

In all aspects People in Villages are contributing for Nations’ Health and wealth, Agriculture, Handicrafts etc; we have to support the People in Indian Villages for their growth our Nations economy, by providing all the facilities for their work. That villages are undoubtedly the strength of the nation I like to add few points here that as the bricks, though too small, form the base of a huge structure, the villages are also the backbone of the economy, politics, and population of a country. And when it comes to a country like India whose economy even today, largely depends on agriculture we cannot deny the contribution of the Indian villages. Moreover the small scale industries, handicrafts take an important role in the growth of the economy. Even though we have become strong in technology we cannot deny the manpower which comes from the large population of the villages.

The Highly concentrated population in Indian villages determines largely the fate of Indian politics. We should take care to strengthen this strength by providing proper education, healthcare, awareness, and required help in other sectors. We are unable to recognize the importance of our villages. Our villages are the hubs of our nation’s economy. And our culture and heritage is our village. But due to some climatic conditions some of our villages are still poor and economically backward. New technology must be introduced into our villages. The most serene and beautiful places in our country are only villages not cities.

People in villages:

Indian villages, to my view are good because village people are really good hard workers and innocent, and they are all living with peaceful. And they are all not depending with others. Everybody work and live. Suppose to take a township people they are all living machine life. Without village just imagine we can’t live. They are all need.

Village people are celebrating the festival is really good. If Villages are not there then festival is also gone. Village people are helping with each other.. Without village no more cities and peoples can live. Because we are getting all the materials for food it’s coming from village only by hardworking villagers. So as this view it’s our strength but the villages need to be improved well by implementing rural dispensary, urban educations, and rights of people. So every citizens is become a strength full to India. So every village is a backbone of city and every city is backbone of India. Typical Indian village have myriad problems. Lack of basic amenities
and infrastructure. Their contribution to the economy both in goods and services
vis-a-vis their urban counterparts. They could be an even bigger drivers of our
economy if they are made self reliant by improving infrastructure and reducing
the general disparities between cities and villages, etc
Indian villages are strength rather then weakness, even though our country developing in sectors like science & technology but at the same time we have to agree that our economy depends a lot upon agriculture sector which is in turn depends upon village farmers.
Village is the place where our daily rice/wheat comes from. It is the place where our daily commodities like sugar, honey, tea, coffee, milk, oil, wood, etc comes from. The list is endless. What ails Indian Villages?

Our villages are not properly maintained they are not aware of what is happening around the world and even in the cities around them. What makes the city generation to hate villages is their extreme dependency on culture. Their beliefs are too old for the present generation culture. They want their children to study. But do not possess the proper facilities for their higher education. Their job of agriculture may not yield them money that is enough for their livelihood.

So they gradually move to cities for their education, and they settle their seeking city life. They forget the value of the village. Moreover they are living a narrow knowledged life only about their agricultural practices and their practices and the village. The villagers must not be assaulted since they are the backbones of our nation. Proper awareness must be given to them about what happens around them. The government must take care that the villagers must not leave the villages. Quality higher education must be provided to them. Farmers must be provided with proper technology that benefits their work. The government must take care that the agriculture workers must not left in loss. They must provided with full support from the government

Conclusion:

Villages are the biggest support for India, from the past to future. They are the one, with which the world recognizes India. They are the one that does not depend on any other cities, but the entire India is dependent on the villages. They contribute to our modern India in every fields starting from agriculture, economy, prettiness of our country. Hence spite of all the negative factors, the positive ness leads the way. Hence, I conclude that villages are the biggest strength to our India.
